Welcome to Rushmere Hall Primary School

A very warm welcome to Rushmere Hall Primary School – a school that I was drawn to from the moment I first stepped foot in the building! Children who are welcoming, hardworking and friendly, a team of professionals who work exceptionally hard and care a great deal about the children, a community of parents who support the school, and a strong team of governors to help challenge and support the school to become better.

It has been 6 years since my arrival and throughout that time we have been growing, learning and evolving, continuously improving Rushmere for the community it serves. Even though we have had a number of successes over the years, we are always refining, fine-tuning and making our offer to the children the best it can be. The quest to be amazing continues – onwards and upwards!

If we learned anything from the COVID–19 pandemic, we most definitely learned that our children absolutely need to have the academic skills. But alongside that we also know that our children need to develop resilience, confidence and be robust and ready for difficult times. Our role is not just to prepare our children for a SATs test or secondary school – we want our children to be ready for the world! A world that is constantly changing and evolving, and one that continues to throw challenges from all different directions. It is our job to give the children the tools they need to be successful in their lives.

At Rushmere we use sport and music to deliver some of our best life learning skills. We teach our children to cope with not getting everything right, and be dedicated, committed and reflective. But most of all we work hard to teach our children to be robust and resilient. Life is tough and we need our children to be ready for it!

As a school we are honest, open and always looking for new, more effective ways of doing things. We don't sit still – the world is changing and so are we!

We care a great deal about our children here at Rushmere Hall and go the extra mile to give them the support they need. Yes – like most schools we face the usual challenges, but we work our socks off to be the very best for our children.

Our Vision and Aims

Excellence for all through innovation, opportunity and community.

We don't measure excellence by our outcomes and SATs results. We aim for excellence in our provision for the children and we want the children to aim at excellence too, whatever excellence looks like for them at their stage and ability.

Excellence through Innovation

At Rushmere Hall, each child is given what they need. We aim for excellence through our innovative approach to supporting every child’s needs, whether this is through our inspirational curriculum and teaching offer, through our expert SEND department, or through strong, sincere relationships. All children get what they need here to support and challenge them. We flex and adapt to the children we have, and each year we evolve and innovate further.

Excellence through Opportunity

We encourage pupils to take every opportunity offered to them – and at Rushmere Hall, we offer a lot! We believe that as many of these as possible should be free to access, so that we can open doors for our pupils which otherwise would be closed to them.

Excellence Through Community

We take our role as the centre of the community very seriously. We are welcoming and our pupils feel they belong here. We want to make connections between everyone within our community, learning from each other and growing together. We open our doors regularly to parents and love having them in the classrooms, learning alongside their children.

Over the next 5 years, we will:

  • Cultivate strong, proactive middle leaders who drive their subject areas forward by being brave, ambitious and capable.
  • Develop and refine a broad, engaging curriculum that guarantees success for all learners, with nothing left to chance.
  • Establish a high quality group of schools which form the Suffolk Hub within the Eko Trust.
  • Tackle the fluctuating pupil numbers by finding an approach that consistently makes sure classes are full.
  • Achieve our goal of becoming a Thrive School: a school that is consistent from start to finish in its desire to grow well-rounded citizens who will have the skills to be amazing in their next stages.

In everything we do we ensure that the school operates a policy of equal opportunities, regardless of gender, race, ability or religion.
